Carrie set the stage for the most famous prom scene in cinematic history. Against her mother's wishes, Carrie White went to the prom, and was voted prom queen. This was done as a joke to humiliate Carrie. As Carrie was accepting her prom crown, a bucket of pig's blood was dumped on her head.
